Plot

Driving on Christmas Eve with his family, Frank Harrington decided to take a shortcut through a remote location. In the car with her: his wife, Laura, his son, Richard, his daughter, Marion, and his girlfriend, Brad. It was time for the night, and when Frank drove, he began to fall asleep behind the wheel, only to be awakened by the screams of his family, warning him of the speeding vehicle, he narrowly avoided the vehicle, and after the inspection of his car, kept driving. Confused, Laura asks her husband why she has not taken the usual route to her mother-in-law's house; he claims he has a crush on change.

As his brothers argued, Frank suddenly stopped the car, claiming he saw a young woman, dressed in white in the bushes. He got out of the car to look further, and the woman appeared, carrying the baby. Marion, seeing how depressed the woman is, and realizing that she needs help, offers to walk so they can take her to the car home to ask for help. The woman got into the car, and when the family asked a question, she remained silent. They arrive at a log cabin, and Laura and Frank go in to investigate. Meanwhile, Richard goes to masturbate in the forest, leaving Brad in the car with the woman and his son. Brad begins to question her and tells her the plan to apply for Marion, while Marion walks along the path to catch up with the family and train how he plans to break up with Brad. She told him his son's name; Amy, and hand it to her. The confused Brad asked how the boy could breathe with the blanket covering his face, the woman replied that the baby was dead. Puzzled, Brad lifted the blanket to find what looked like a rotting corpse of the boy, and shouted. The camera changed back to Richard, who heard the scream and immediately ran back to the car. Brad, and the woman, were invisible. However, Marion sees a hearse driving down the street, and when he turns to look, he sees Brad slamming behind her. He ran back to the family and made them drive after the hearse, his journey unsuccessful.

Driving along the way, Frank once again stopped the car, and went outside to see the way, telling the family to keep coming back. She found Brad's body cut into pieces, and when Marion was in shock, Laura tried to call the police with Brad's cell phone; However, the other end of the line is the crying child. The family returned to the car, and Marion sat, silent. As the tension rose, Laura questioned Frank's ability to direct them; they argue, and she tells Laura that she hates visiting her family. Frank suddenly stopped the car once more, when he saw the stroller on the road, Richard came out to look and pretend to be pulled into the stroller, frightening his parents. They returned to the car, only to stop again, but this time, Richard the hearse picked up. Later, his family found his body, and Laura began to go mad.

Driving with her daughter in front of the car, Marion seems to have returned to normal, and her family passed a sign that read "Marcott". Frank realized that this must be a military road, and that is why it is not on the map. During the stops, Laura shoots Frank at the foot with the rifle that they release from the gift to a family member. After putting the wound on, they begin the journey again. Shortly after, Laura talked about seeing the face of a friend who had died 20 years earlier in the woods. He demands to visit with friends who leave, and after Frank refuses, jumps out of a moving vehicle. Frank stops and they search for Laura until she appears, disheveled and babbling with her brain impacted before dying. Putting it behind the car, he kept driving. They found the same ranger station they had stopped before, and Frank was attacked in the dark by Lady in White. Afterwards, Frank had a real change in Marion's attitude and blows unconscious. She sees Woman in White once more, and chases her into the forest with a shotgun, only to be sent in the dark. Marion woke up and got out of the car, and started trying to walk down the street. He found a corpse bag in the middle of the street containing his deceased family members. As she cries, the hearse stops, but the Woman in the White comes from behind, telling Marion who is terrified that the hearse was not there before getting into the hearse and leaving, leaving Marion alone with her dead family.

Marion suddenly woke up in the hospital, wrapped in a rough. The doctor tells her about the coma and convinces Marion that she and her baby will be fine. On the way out of the hospital, the doctor spoke to a man who claimed to be the one who found the family after a car accident. The car was then seen withdrawn from the wreck, and the doctor discussed the accident. The man suspected that the whole family, except Marion, had died, and the accident also claimed the lives of a young woman and her baby in another car. He asks the doctor for his name, and he reveals to him that it is Dr. Marcott. The audience gets the impression that Marion dreams about how her family died when in a coma, and that the hearse that did not pick her up is her dream that says she will live. When the doctor tried to leave, his car failed to start, and the man who found his family offered a ride in the same hearse of Marion's dream.

As the credit rolled, two workers were seen wiping out of the accident. They found a note that Frank had written in the car with Marion before their last stop, insinuating that the family experience was real.
