Plot

Ted's future tells the children about the time he almost met their mother. After leaving the class, Ted seized alcohol from fraternal brothers and shared it with the woman they proposed, Cindy (Rachel Bilson), a Ph.D. the student is about the age of Ted. He asks her out and finds out that Cindy has a serious problem with her roommate (whom Ted Future reveals to be Mom) with whom her date continues to fall in love. Ted promised Cindy to never fall in love with her roommate ("Oops," said Future Ted). Throughout the date Cindy complained about her roommate and her strange habit that Ted secretly thought was extraordinary.

After that date, Cindy tells Ted that he can not see her anymore, does not want to risk a scholarship or a teaching career for Ted. However, Ted did not want to miss the opportunity to make love and return to Cindy's apartment to persuade her to go out again. Ted picked up three items from the room to show how much they had in common, but it turned out to be all connected to his roommate. Frustrated that Ted was better suited to his roommate, Cindy told him to leave. Ted caught a glimpse of his roommate's foot as he left, and forgot to pick up the yellow umbrella he brought that restored Mother's ownership.

Barney attempts to sleep the new bartender who pulls MacLaren (Stacy Keibler), but after dating insensitive Wall Street losers he does not like men in clothes. For a while he dressed casually, convincing the bartender that he misjudged him. However, Barney shows the withdrawal, becomes too loving from the suit Marshall wore, and sneaks into the bathroom to wear a suit. Barney accidentally tore up a damaged jacket repaired, though his tailor, Tim Gunn, pulled out the button to save another suit and Barney cremated his body.

Meanwhile, Lily, Marshall, and Robin argue about the interest of the bartender. Robin suggested the location reinforce the beauty of nature and be behind the bar but was soon kicked out. Marshall insisted the bartender was not so attractive, saying Lily was the most beautiful woman she had ever met. Lily, obviously impressed by the bartender herself, tried to make Marshall say that she was not as pretty as the bartender, and ultimately implied that the bartender was better than Marshall, making her a bit annoyed.

With a suit of ash jell and real tears for his missing jacket, Barney convinces the bartender to go to his apartment, where he accidentally opens his dresser. She forces him to choose between him and his jacket, and is angry that they are shown leaving the building when Barney breaks the song, confessing his love for clothes - only to pick him at the end of the song when he realizes "he is pretty hot." He tells her that he is more important than clothes and they will leave in the morning. When they fell into bed, he whispered, "You're fine" for his jacket, which moves slightly as if breathing a sigh of relief.
